When Will my Child Reach Their Adult Height?

• When a boy’s bone age reaches 17 years, they have achieved 99% of their height potential. *

• When a girl’s bone age reaches 15 years, they have achieved 99% of their height potential. *

For example, let’s say your son has a bone age of 14 (you will get this information with an AHP hand X-ray) and a chronological age of 15. Your son will reach 99% of his adult height around age 18. This is because his bone age is about one year behind his chronological age, so in 3 years his bone age will be approximately 17 and his chronological age will be about 18.
